On January 13, 2024, the Moscow Diocesan Court issued a decision in the case of Archpriest Alexy Uminsky. The court was uttered by Fr. Alexy from the priesthood for violating the 25th Rule of the Holy Apostles - violation of the priestly oath. The reason for this decision was the refusal to read the prayer “On Holy Rus'” prescribed by the patriarch. The priest did not come to any of the three court hearings; the decision was made in his absence.

In December 2023, we recorded six hate-motivated attacks. As usual in the last several months, we learn of the majority of these attacks by way of video clips posted to ultra-right Telegram channels depicting attacks on migrants and unhoused people. Since the beginning of 2023, we became aware of 119 individuals who suffered as a result of hate-motivated attacks; of three murders; and of one serious death threat.

On January 14, 2024, NOD activists held a picket near the building of the Roman Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Malaya Gruzinskaya Street in Moscow. The action was dedicated to the “protection of spiritual and moral values”, the reason for it was the declaration of blessing of the Department of Doctrine “Fiducia supplicans” (“Calling for trust”), published in 2023 and approved by Pope Francis, allowing the blessing of same-sex couples.

Due to the increase in the number of administrative cases under Art. 20.3 of the Administrative Code (propaganda and public display of Nazi symbols and symbols of prohibited organizations), we combine similar cases for each month into a single list. On January 19, 2024, the Traktorozavodsky District Court of Volgograd fined IK-9 prisoner Evgeniy Borovykh 1 thousand rubles for showing other prisoners his tattoo with Nazi symbols.

On January 15, 2024, the Federal List of Extremist Materials was updated. The list was supplemented by a song by the far-right Ukrainian group “Krepatura”.

On January 11, 2024, the 2nd Western District Military Court began consideration of the merits of the case of neo-Nazis from the banned NS/WP. They are accused of membership in the recognized terrorist organization NS/WP, preparing an assassination attempt on Vladimir Solovyov and other crimes. In the dock: Andrey Pronsky (Bloodman), Vladimir Stepanov (Young), Vladimir Belyakov (Scout), Maxim Druzhinin, Timofey Mokiy, Andrey Volkov and Dinis Abrarov.

On January 15, 2024, it became known that the magistrate court of judicial district No. 45 of St. Petersburg dismissed the case under Part 4 of Art. 5.26 of the Code of Administrative Offenses in relation to Yuri Yungerov (carrying out missionary activities in violation of the requirements of the legislation on freedom of conscience, freedom of religion and religious associations).

In Moscow, a court found advertisements for hiring “only Slavs” to violate anti-extremist legislation. On January 14, 2024, it became known that the Dorogomilovsky Court of Moscow declared job advertisements “only for Slavs” published on VKontakte to be prohibited information. Earlier, representatives of the prosecutor's office filed complaints about advertisements on VKontakte seeking workers for a construction site, a clothing store, and a bakery store.

On January 12, 2024, the Kirovsky District Court of Irkutsk fined the leader of the local Falun Gong association, Nadezhda Lai, under Art. 20.33 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (participation in the activities of a foreign or international non-governmental organization in respect of which a decision has been made to recognize its activities as undesirable on the territory of the Russian Federation).

Roman Shport and Alexey Isakov were sentenced to imprisonment in a penal colony for publicly calling for terrorist activities. On January 15, 2024, the Second Western District Military Court sentenced to imprisonment in a colony-settlement two young people who posted leaflets in Moscow in the Pechatniki district with calls to join the organization “Russian Volunteer Corps” (RDK) recognized as terrorist in the Russian Federation .

Dmitry Arkhipov was punished under Part 1 of Art. 20.3 Code of Administrative Offences. On January 13, 2024, the Mezhdurechensky City Court of the Kemerovo Region fined one thousand rubles under Part 1 of Art. 20.3 Code of Administrative Offenses (public display of Nazi symbols) by 19-year-old tattoo artist Dmitry Arkhipov. It is alleged that examples of his work were published on his social network page. Among them were tattoos with Kolovrat.

On January 12, 2024, it became known that a resident of Bashkortostan, Ramimustafa Kh. (according to other sources, this was a resident of the republic, whose name is not named) appealed to the head of the republic, Radiy Khabirov, in connection with the upcoming Epiphany bathing. According to the author of the appeal, swimming together between men and women in an ice hole is immoral and has a negative impact on the morality of children.
