On February 13, 2024, the department of the Investigative Committee for the Altai Territory opened a criminal case under Part 4 of Art. 354.1 of the Criminal Code (desecration of symbols of Russia’s military glory, insult to the memory of defenders of the Fatherland, committed by a group of people using the Internet).

Previously, Oleg Pankov was brought to administrative responsibility under Art. 20.3.3 Code of Administrative Offences. On February 15, 2024, it became known that politician and ex-deputy of the Komsomolsk-on-Amur City Duma Oleg Pankov was detained in a criminal case. It is reported that investigative actions took place under Art. 280.3 of the Criminal Code (discrediting the use of Russian armed forces). Pankov's house was searched.

In January 2024, a case was initiated against a resident of Omsk under Art. 284.1.2.3 (participation in the activities of a foreign or international non-governmental organization in respect of which a decision was made to recognize its activities as undesirable on the territory of the Russian Federation, financing and organizing its activities), he was detained and given a written undertaking not to leave.

According to investigators, Mikhail Sharygin is involved in the activities of Alexei Navalny’s “underground headquarters”. On February 13, 2024, officers of the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained Nizhny Novgorod activist Mikhail Sharygin in a criminal case initiated under Part 2 of Art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code (participation in the activities of an extremist organization). Two days later, the Nizhny Novgorod District Court sent him to a pre-trial detention center.
