January 22, 2026 to the Federal List of Extremist Materials under paragraphs. 5490 and 5491, two songs by Mikhail Maurov were added, recognized as extremist by the decision of the St. Petersburg City Court dated October 29, 2025. The songs were found freely available on the Internet.

According to Colonel Yuri Zakharenko, accused, among other things, under Art. 282.3 of the Criminal Code, he did not know that he financed the Anti-Corruption Foundation after this organization was recognized as extremist. On January 13, 2026, the Moscow Garrison Military Court received a criminal case against Colonel Yuri Zakharenko and Lieutenant Colonel Mikhail Baranov, employees of the Military Service and Security Directorate of the Military Service of the Ministry of Defense.

In Penza, a court sentenced a 29-year-old local resident to 1 year of correctional labor after he was found guilty of publishing a text on Telegram calling for violence against people from the Caucasus and Central Asia. On December 19, 2025, the Zheleznodorozhny District Court of Penza rendered a verdict in the case of public calls for extremism (Part 2 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code).

62-year-old Dmitry Ivanovsky was sentenced to forced labor for publishing a picture claiming that the St. George Ribbon was used by “Vlasovites.” On January 30, 2026, the Ulyanovsk Regional Court sentenced 62-year-old Dmitry Ivanovsky under Part 4 of Art.

It became known about two more cases of application of the new article of the Code of Administrative Offenses on the search for deliberately extremist materials. In January 2026, information appeared about the consideration of two cases of an administrative offense under Art. 13.53 Code of Administrative Offenses (search for obviously extremist materials and gaining access to them). On January 28, the Naursky District Court of the Chechen Republic registered the case of Isa Magamadov.

Local resident Viktor Bondarenko will appear in court. On January 29, 2026, the Kondinsky District Court of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug (KhMAO) received the case of Viktor Bondarenko, accused under Art. 319 (insulting a government official) and Part 1 of Art. 280.3 of the Criminal Code (repeated discrediting of the Russian armed forces). What served as the reason for the criminal prosecution of Bondarenko is still unknown.

The fine for Irina Fayzulina from Berezniki amounted to 300 thousand rubles. On February 2, 2026, the Berezniki City Court of the Perm Territory sentenced local resident Irina Fayzulina to a fine of 300 thousand rubles. She was found guilty under Part 1 of Art. 282.3 of the Criminal Code (financing extremist activities). On January 30, during the debate, the state prosecutor asked that the Berezniki resident be sentenced to a fine of 550 thousand rubles.
