The Sacred Madness of Charlotte Rampling
I. Marie Drillon, a teacher of English literature at a Parisian university, comes with her husband to the beach. In a completely Anthony-like gesture, the husband with whom Marie lived for more than 25 years disappears. Marie continues to buy ties for her husband, laughs when another, new man, perched on top of her in bed, turns out to be lighter than her husband, smokes a lot, applies anti-aging cream to the dark circles under his eyes, and grows inexorably old.
