Scientists: one of the largest glaciers in Antarctica has cracked
One of the largest glaciers in Antarctica, Larsen C, whose area is 55 thousand square meters, has cracked. This was reported on the website of the British research project MIDAS. Geophysicists said that a crack in the glacier, discovered back in 2010, began to grow rapidly. From March to August 2016, the split increased by 22 kilometers. Now the length of the crack is about 60 kilometers with a width of approximately 350 meters.
