In Voronezh, surgeons removed a gauze pad that had been forgotten two years ago from a patient’s stomach.
At a clinic in Voronezh, during an operation for a cystic formation, surgeons discovered a meter-long medical napkin in the patient’s stomach, reports Channel 9 Stary Oskol. As it turned out, they forgot to remove the gauze after the operation two years ago. In January 2015, a resident of Stary Oskol, Yulia Khaustova, went to city hospital No. 2 with a ruptured corpus luteum cyst. After the operation, the abdominal pain resumed, and the girl went for treatment to a gastroenterologist.
