An entrepreneur from Uzbekistan Gafur Rakhimov, included in the US Department of Finance, was elected president of the International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA), writes The Guardian. At the Congress of the Boxing Association in Moscow, Rakhimov received 86 out of 134 votes, ahead of Serik Konakbaev from Kazakhstan. Since January, Rakhimov acted as the president of the organization. His candidacy was supported, including by Russia.
