North Korea obliged citizens and enterprises to finance schools and other educational institutions under threat of criminal prosecution
North Korea has introduced a system of forced collection of funds for education from enterprises and ordinary citizens. Daily NK has obtained the full text of the DPRK Law on Supporting Education, adopted by the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly. The law consists of 29 articles and regulates the collection, registration and expenditure of funds from the fund, the responsibilities of sponsoring organizations, the system for evaluating their work, benefits and sanctions.
