The Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR) and the Russian Humanitarian Science Foundation (RGNF) are the largest and most authoritative scientific foundations in Russia. Thanks to them, tens of thousands of scientists in Russia had the opportunity, at the very least, to continue their research. However, at present, the prospects for state research funds are hidden in the fog. In the worst case, they may even cease to exist as normal scientific foundations.
