Rice. 7. Two cents - the dome with the spire of the Antonellian mass (mole Antonelliana). This symbol of Turin remained the tallest structure in Italy until 2011 (167.5 m). In subsequent years, it was purchased and completed by the municipality of Turin for the Risorgimento Museum, restored in 1961 after a tornado (now it houses the National Cinematography Museum)

Rice. 4. Twenty Cents - sculpture by Umberto Boccioni (1882–1916), Italian painter and sculptor, head and theorist of the Italian Futurist school. He conveyed the dynamism of the industrial era through the vortex-like movement of intersecting shapes and planes. The bronze sculpture “Unique Forms of Duration in Space” (1913, Gallery of Modern Art in Milan) depicts a figure who strides rapidly, “dissolving” in the oncoming wind and personifying the spirit of “sturm und drang” characteristic of the early avant-garde. During World War I, Boccioni was drafted into the army and died, fatally injured in a fall from a horse; with his death the era of futurism ended

Rice. 6. Five Cents - Flavian Amphitheater, better known as the Colosseum, a symbol of the greatness of Rome. The construction of the amphitheater was started by Emperor Vespasian in 70–72 AD. e. and completed by Emperor Titus in 80. In Latin colosseus means “huge”, “colossal”. The Colosseum was intended for gladiator fights and circus shows and could accommodate up to 50 thousand spectators. The ancient structure was largely destroyed in the 14th–15th centuries as a result of earthquakes, as well as the barbaric use of its stones for other buildings, including famous Italian palaces. In particular, all marble seats and decorative trim disappeared from the Colosseum.
