The death toll from the April 25 earthquake in Nepal has risen to 3,218, with at least 6,538 injured, Reuters reported, citing a local police spokesman. Earlier reports suggested 2,500 dead and more than 5,500 injured. According to the Himalayan Times newspaper, citing law enforcement agencies, the death toll from the earthquake could rise to 8,000, TASS reports. The destructive earthquake, the epicenter of which was located 80 km from the country's capital Kathmandu, had a magnitude of 7.9.
