The last prisoner of the Second World War
The most famous mental patient has died Andras Toma, who spent more than half a century in Soviet “psychiatric captivity” and miraculously escaped at the end of his life, died in Hungary. The young Hungarian was drafted into the army in the early 40s and sent to the Eastern Front to fight against the USSR. In 1944, Toma was captured, spent about two years in a prisoner of war camp, and then was transferred to a psychiatric hospital in the city of Kotelnich, Kirov region.
