Two versions of the same story - one film is a remake of the second, but which is which is not easy to understand. It looks great though. For all fans of "The Blair Witch Project" and other avant-garde horror films of recent years. It was shot very beautifully (albeit in different ways), as is usual in oriental cinema. The plot is simple, but scary: a videotape with a small, indistinct passage, after watching which you will definitely die in a week. Throughout the film, the characters are trying to figure out what’s going on, bury the witch’s corpse and lift the curse. To understand in the final frames that they took the wrong path. The suspense is enhanced by the fact that the next victim should be a child, and the saving spell that removes the curse was erased on the same tape by unknown jokers...

The specificity of the collection is a large number of new (sometimes old) European cinema. Unprecedentedly large gatherings of Spaniards (Julio Medem and a host of little-known directors), Germans (including several films by Tom Tykwer, director of Run Lola Run), Dutch (Alex Warmerdam, Jon Stelling and others), as well as Czechs (Vera Khitilova and other directors of the 60-90s). Complete Peter Greenaway and Lars von Trier (although Anton stubbornly claims that this is “not his director”). Not a lot of Japanese cinema, but everything is interesting. A small but exclusive collection of Russian intellectual cinema (Kira Muratova, Alexander Sokurov).

The largest collection of the “king” of underground animation, Jan Švankmajer (Faust, Alice, Conspirators of Pleasure and short films). And in general - a lot of interesting, avant-garde and not so avant-garde, cartoons.

"To hell with everything!" (1996). A sensational film in Europe and, as usual, unknown to anyone here, is a film by the advanced Dutch director Jan Kerkoff. Similar to Danny Boyle's early films. With humor and blackness, filming, pseudo-real scenes. All this is from the life of modern youth in modern Amsterdam.

"Humanity" (1999) by Bruno Dumont. After this film, Dumont, by that time - only the author of the controversial drama about provincial skinheads "The Life of Jesus" - was included in the list of the most promising directors of the new generation of French cinema. In these circumstances, the tragedy unfolds of a retarded village policeman who is investigating the brutal rape and murder of a little girl.
