Alexei Uchitel has produced a strange work about the tangled relationship between the aging author of Dark Alleys , Nobel laureate Ivan Bunin, and his wife and mistress. Without excessive respect and excessive arrogance. A competent script plus good actors - Andrey Smirnov, Olga Budina, Evgeny Mironov. The plot is vague, crime-fiction, somewhat vaguely reminiscent of some unwritten story by the Strugatsky brothers. What is clear is that Binoche chose an unattractive old man over Laban (Lavan himself, for all his charisma, is oh so scary in person), and then everything ended badly.
"Lovers from the New Bridge" . The third film by the French genius Leo Carax as part of a unique retrospective undertaken by the Museum of Cinema. 1990 It was believed that after this film, having reached the top in it, Carax refused to make films. However, nine years later he himself denied this. The least metaphysical and most complete picture. Beloved are the same as before. This time, Laban is a strange homeless man living near the Pont Neuf, which is being renovated, and Binoche is a going blind artist. The romance between them seems to be impossible, but it still happens, and even in the finale there is a faint semblance of a happy ending. A lot of episodes that have gone down in the annals - for example, burning the "Wanted" notices in the Laban metro, jumping from a bridge onto a barge, etc.
"Pola X" . The latest film by the French genius Leo Carax as part of a unique retrospective undertaken by the Museum of Cinema. 1999 In Cannes, it seems, they simply did not understand him. A story of incest, love between son and mother, brother and sister. Perhaps the best role of the aging Catherine Deneuve, who finally decided to be naked in the movies.
