To begin with, I was discharged from the hospital. Almost everyone to whom I communicate this news in Russia are very surprised and asked: “Did they really cure?!” Everyone wants a great good news at once, but everyone understands that this does not happen, and then they immediately scare: “The money is over?!” In fact, both of the two extremes, the truth, as usual, between them. The money has not ended yet, but ending. And taking into account what has happened in the last two months - the need for new courses of chemotherapy, resuscitation, hospitalization and, most importantly, the upcoming bone marrow transplantation (sister Nastya, set here, suitable as a donor), now it is clear that there is not enough money. But it would be worse if it turned out that there was nothing more to treat. So far, the problem has yet been coped with the last problem.
The main matter of the last weeks was to find the drug of chemotherapy to which my tumors will be sensitive. The fact is that a patient with cancer, has undergone many treatment courses, each other produces tumor resistance. Tumors, like all living things, change and learn to resist. The strongest also survive there, and therefore the further, the more difficult it is to choose a combination of chemotherapy preparations that will prevail over them. There is not enough time for the selection - the tumors continue to grow and not enough strength - without even acting on the tumor, each drug weakens the body, reducing the number of attempts. Another attempt did not help me - Bendamustin. While the doctors were engaged in my sister, I was in the hospital under the dropper - for five days around the clock in three venous connections at the same time. The hospital in the United States is exhausted as a marching march in the desert. There are a lot of doctors and nurses and they have a change of duty, and I am one and so many fluids are poured into me that I can’t sleep for more than an hour in a row for a maximum for natural reasons. This is not counting the collection of blood, measuring pressure, temperature and oxygen in the blood, changing the vials of drugs, all kinds of surprises, visits of doctors ... And now I was discharged!
They wrote out because part of the course of chemotherapy, requiring such a regime, was successful. And also because I no longer need anesthesia. In anticipation of this course of chemotherapy, I was alive only on morphia and deca. On them, I would have held out a maximum of another couple more weeks.
I left the hospital weak. In a mask and rubber gloves. There are new problems with the neck. But I went out alive after the day passed from the last reception of morphine and the last dropper of dex.
