In Kazan, charges were brought against inciting hatred and organizing the activities of an extremist community for participating in a picket against discrimination against Muslims and Hizb ut-Tahrir car rallies.
On January 28, 2014, it became known that charges had been brought in Tatarstan in the case of a picket against the ban on the translation of the Koran that took place in the fall of 2013 and car rallies with Hizb ut-Tahrir flags in 2012.
Ildar Shaikhutdinov, Ilmir Imaev, Azat Khasanov and Lenar Galyamov were charged under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (inciting hatred or enmity) and 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organizing the activities of an extremist organization and participating in it).
I. Shaikhutdinov has already been convicted three times for participating in the activities of Hizb ut-Tahrir.
Another accused, I. Imaev, according to the investigation, joined Hizb ut-Tahrir in 2012 and began writing articles for this organization, the essence of which “is to create a negative assessment of the work of law enforcement agencies and the Muslim Spiritual Directorate of the Republic of Tajikistan in the field of counteraction religious extremism and terrorism and create an aura of martyrdom in the face of Muslims who are “oppressed” by them. Thus, he fulfills one of the most important goals of the organization - the unification of Muslims of all movements under the pretext of fighting a common enemy."
Let us recall that in September 2013, the accused organized a protest against the recognition of the translation of the Koran into Russian made by E. Kuliev as extremist (in December 2013 this decision was canceled ). The case of organizing this picket was combined into one proceeding with the case of organizing car rallies with Hizb ut-Tahrir flags in 2012.
