The head of Theatre.doc, Elena Gremina, has died
Head and one of the founders of Theatre.doc. playwright and director Elena Gremina died suddenly in a hospital in Moscow.
It is reported by MBH Media with reference to Gremina's relatives. The cause of death was kidney and heart failure. The information was confirmed in the theater.
Journalist and human rights activist Zoya Svetova writes about the death of the playwright on Facebook.
“Lena Gremina died in the hospital this morning. Genius, great. Darling. It's impossible to understand. And accept,” wrote Svetova.
Elena Gremina was the author of plays based on documentary material, they were staged at the Theater. doc: "September.doc", "Eighteen Hour" - a play in memory of Sergei Magnitsky, "Two in your house".
Performances participated in many Russian and European festivals. "Hour Eighteen" and "Two in Your House" were nominated for the Golden Mask Award.
On April 1, Elena Gremina's husband, artistic director and founder of Theatre.doc, died of a heart attack. Mikhail Ugarov.
