This letter to the readers of "Saturday Medusa" was written by our editor Ekaterina Krongauz. It is not quite ordinary, but to change something in it for the sake of preserving the format is only to spoil it. In general, read:

When we were planning the second season of the ethical podcast Delo Chance , in which else Andrey Babitsky, the editor-in-chief of Postnauka, and I argue about ethics, we came up with a very good and harmonious concept - movies, series, books, and any art feels that values ​​are changing before anyone and people face new ethical questions. Any, the most subtle changes are immediately reflected in art.

The first season of the podcast looked at ethical issues in news stories. The second season, which begins on June 5, was planned about the movie. And everything would be fine, but journalism, news, cinema and ethics completely mixed up when the murder of journalist Arkady Babchenko turned out to be staged . Therefore, the first issue will be devoted to lies, and in what cases it is appropriate.

In the meantime, we will tell you what the other episodes of our second season will be about (unless, of course, life turns everything upside down again). Important clarification: we spoil a lot in the podcast, but in this letter we will be careful!

The second season of the Wild West World has been released - a series about an artificial world in which humanoid robots live, and people join this life for big money to kill, rape robots and participate in the race for criminals. This series, at the right time, raises questions for the viewer about whether robots have rights and whether it is possible to kill them. Topical issues that in real life were discussed not so long ago in connection with the beating of a real robot.

After the release of the film "Coach" and the documentary "Dancer" about the fate of the ballet dancer Sergei Polunin and before the World Cup, I again want to discuss the eternal question: should I force myself? And are there great achievements without violence? And can a parent decide the fate for a child, even if he is a genius?

The last "Avengers" finally proved that good people do not take revenge - they only save and protect. Why does a good person no longer take revenge, but only seek harmony and go to a psychotherapist? And who benefits from it?

Not the last, but rather important question: why do we put love life out of reputation brackets? After the incredible success of the film Arrhythmia, progressive people argued with less progressive people on social networks for several months about whether the heroine of Irina Gorbacheva should have stayed with the hero of Alexander Yatsenko? And why can we trust a person who always puts work ahead of loved ones? And how can we consider a person a good doctor who cannot make a good decision at home?
