Oil in exchange for winemaking
According to the Italian La Stampa, a representative of the Russian oligarch tried to buy Castello Banfi, one of the largest enterprises producing the famous Italian wine Brunello di Montalcino, but, having offered 500 million euros, was refused. Negotiations with three major wineries - Argiano, Col d'Orcia and Poggione - are close to completion, and, according to the newspaper, very soon the former oil magnate will acquire the status of a major winemaker.
