Media: Lukoil will lose its most valuable foreign asset
The Iraqi government has approved the nationalization of operations at the West Qurna 2 oil field, which is operated by the Russian company Lukoil. In the next 12 months, the state-owned company Basra Oil will develop it, Reuters writes , citing sources. Previously, the agency noted that this field is the most valuable of Lukoil’s foreign assets and one of the largest in the world. Within a year, Basra Oil will independently look for a buyer for this asset.
