Despite the fact that war is present in the lives of many people, the world as a whole, from a historical perspective, is fighting less and less. Psychologist Steven Pinker provides data illustrating the decline in the level of violence in the world over a long historical horizon. Human beings, both individually and collectively, according to Pinker, are increasingly using brute force less and less. The long post-war peace of the past 70 years is especially characteristic in this regard.
