Melissa Theriault: “Indigenous philosophies think in terms of relationships, not divisions”
The Russian authorities are developing a unified philosophy course that all students will study. It will form “the idea of Russia as a separate civilization with its own values.” Western authors in the program will inevitably be replaced by domestic ones. In modern Russia, such initiatives are often supported by anti-colonial rhetoric (the fight against Western imperialism), behind which great-power chauvinism is clearly visible.
