Prisoner Evgeny Makarov was recognized as a victim in the case of torture in Yaroslavl IK-1, he received state protection, the Public Verdict Foundation told Dozhd. According to lawyer Eldar Luzin, on August 8, Makarov was given a decree recognizing him as a victim. At the same time, the prisoner has not yet been interrogated in this status, the lawyer noted. In addition, Makarov was informed that he had been assigned state protection due to a criminal case.
