The last genius of the Empire
Joseph Alexandrovich Brodsky was born on May 24, 1940, 70 years ago. He was not allowed to live to seventy, he died in 1996, in exile, in New York. Those bastards who, according to Galich, were proud that the great Pasternak, hounded by them, “died in his bed”, reaching 70 years old (“the age of death”), they will not find a reason for such pride in Brodsky’s life and death: Sofya Vlasyevna, the Soviet authorities, were chasing after him like a pack of wolves.
