“Rain”: Ukrainian children from the occupied territories continue to be adopted in Russia - this is contrary to international law
Dozhd journalist Nina Beroeva confirmed the adoption of a child from the occupied territories of Ukraine. In the report, she told the story of 6-year-old Vanya, who was taken from occupied Donetsk to a Russian orphanage, and then adopted in October 2022. According to the publication, the child’s natural mother was deprived of parental rights under the laws of the so-called “DPR”, and not Ukraine. After this, Vanya and his sister were taken to Russian territory.
