At a meeting on February 8, the Central Election Commission unanimously voted to refuse to register Boris Nadezhdin, a representative of the Civil Initiative party, as a presidential candidate. As stated in the department, the commission invalidated 9,147 signatures in support of Nadezhdin - out of 60 thousand selected for verification. In total, the candidate's headquarters submitted 104,734 signatures to the Central Election Commission, 95,587 of them were recognized as reliable.
