Matvienko called for reducing the reception of applicants “from the hinterland” to the capital's universities who replenish the ranks of “losers”
The speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko opposed nonresident students at universities in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kazan. In her opinion, educational institutions in these cities “began to stamp specialists in professions that are not needed” in such quantities. And the students themselves, moving to megacities from the hinterland, “instead of success history” receive the “history of losers”.
