Russian officers will increase their retirement age by 5 years
Viktor Goremykin, head of the Main Personnel Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, announced this on air on Ekho Moskvy. The law will soon be submitted to the government. Currently, officers with the rank of lieutenant colonel serve for up to 45 years, colonels for up to 50 years, and generals for up to 60 years. According to Goremykin, it is necessary to extend the service life by five years in order to retain professional personnel.
