This book sums up the next stage of a long-term project devoted to the problem of ethnic and religious intolerance (hate speech) in the mass media in modern Russia.

The Moscow District Court acquitted the defendant in the case of the murder of 19-year-old Artur Sardaryan in a train near Moscow. 10 out of 12 jurors found juvenile Roman Polusmyak (born 1990) innocent, despite two witnesses identifying him as the killer, according to Panorama.am. However, the acquitted R. Polumyak was not released from custody, since shortly before the start of this process he was sentenced to two years for hooligan beating of a man on the Malenkovskaya platform.

On May 29, the head of the Regional Human Rights Center "Nova", Marcel Gimaliev, born in 1981, was detained in Kazan. He was summoned to the Republican Department of the FSB for interrogation as an accused in a criminal case of involvement in the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization.

On May 29, 2007, the Independent Press Center hosted a presentation of the new collection of the SOVA Center, “Hate Speech against Society,” completing the next stage of the coalition project to study ethnic and religious intolerance in the media.

May 29, 2007 at about 5 a.m. In the morning in Stavropol, an attempt was made to set fire to the Midas club, near which a mass brawl took place on May 24 . Unidentified persons threw Molotov cocktails into the club building. According to unofficial information, the club belongs to the natives of the Caucasus. The fire was promptly prevented by firefighters who arrived at the scene literally 5 minutes later.

The Protestant organization "Polar Christian Mission of Mercy" organized in the village. Revda of the Murmansk region is a rehabilitation center for those suffering from drug and alcohol addiction and the homeless. The center was supposed to operate on the basis of the "12 steps" program. It was planned that Orthodox priests would also be invited to the wards, so that at the end of the rehabilitation course, people could choose their own religious denomination.

The prosecutor's office of the Chelyabinsk region referred to court a criminal case against three people accused of involvement in the activities of Hizb ut-Tahrir (Part 2, Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Two of them are residents of Magnitogorsk, one is from Kyrgyzstan.

The prosecutor's office of the city of Ivdel, Sverdlovsk region, initiated a criminal case under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (inciting ethnic and religious hatred) against a 19-year-old employee of one of the commercial enterprises of the city, who is suspected of having produced and then distributed leaflets with extremist texts and images of a stylized swastika at his workplace.
