VTsIOM has published the results of the survey "What do we celebrate on Easter", conducted on April 11-12. The survey involved 600 people from 140 settlements in 42 regions, territories and republics of Russia. The fact that Easter is the feast of the Resurrection of Christ is known to 44% of the respondents. 21% believe that this is a holiday associated with Christ.

On April 11, another rally was held in Ryazan in defense of the Ryazan Kremlin museum-reserve. As the organizers of the action note , after the dismantling of the exhibition in the Oleg Palace, the number of participants in the protest increased several times: more than 150 people took part in the rally. During the campaign, another 300 signatures were collected in support of the museum-reserve.

By order of Dmitry Medvedev, changes were made to the composition of the Council for Interaction with Religious Associations under the President of the Russian Federation: the Secretary General of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of Russia, priest Igor Kovalevsky, was included in the Council. Previously, Catholics in this body were represented by Archbishop Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz, but in September 2007 he was appointed Metropolitan of Minsk-Mogilev and transferred to Belarus.

On April 16, 2009, four masked men attacked two Tajik citizens near house 6 on Ketcherskaya Street in Moscow. The injured foreigners, born in 1986 and 1989, received multiple stab wounds. The perpetrators fled the scene. Passers-by called an ambulance, but by the time it arrived, one of the victims had already died. The second foreigner was hospitalized. Doctors assess his condition as extremely serious.

On April 17, 2009, it became known that two suspects had been identified in Birobidzhan in the case of nationalist graffiti . It is also reported that another case has been initiated on the same episode under the same Part 1 of Art. 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public calls for extremist activities). According to the conclusions of the examination, the graffiti are extremist. The drawings and inscriptions have been destroyed.
