Convicted of racist murder
On May 27, 2013, the Moscow City Court sentenced 22-year-old Daria Botvinskaya, accused of assaulting natives of Dagestan, committed in June 2007 in an electric train near Moscow. At the time of the murder - June 10, 2007 - Botvinskaya was not yet 18 years old, she previously had a different surname - Tikhanova. She was on the federal wanted list for three years until she was arrested in 2011.
