The Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church appointed new metropolitans to Tatarstan and Yekaterinburg
On December 8, 2020, a remote meeting of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church took place. The members of the Synod appointed a new bishop for Tatarstan, Metropolitan Kirill (Nakonechny), former Metropolitan of Yekaterinburg. Bishop Evgeniy (Kulberg) of Bronnitsky, chairman of the Synodal Department for Religious Education and Catechism, Vicar of the Patriarch, was appointed to Yekaterinburg.
