In December 2022, in the Stavropol Territory, a court sentenced Andrei Kirichenko to 3 years in prison on probation, finding him guilty of inciting ethnic hatred. On December 1, 2022, the Izobilnensky District Court of the Stavropol Territory delivered a verdict in the case under Part 2 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting ethnic hatred with the threat of violence).

Igor Orlovsky is being persecuted for his publications on social networks. On May 17, 2023, the department of the Investigative Committee for the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Republic of Khakassia reported on the completion of the investigation of the criminal case against Krasnoyarsk resident Igor Orlovsky. He is accused under paragraph “c” of Part 2 of Art.

On December 7, 2022, it became known that in the Sovetsko-Gavansky district of the Khabarovsk Territory, a court found a US citizen guilty under Part 2 of Art. 18.8 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation by a foreign citizen or stateless person of the rules for entry into the Russian Federation or the regime of stay (residence) in the Russian Federation) and declared his stay in Russia illegal. He was fined two thousand rubles and will be expelled from the country.

The reason for the persecution of Igor Orlovsky was publications on social networks. On March 14, 2024, the Fifth Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction approved the verdict, which on November 13, 2023, the Krasnoyarsk Regional Court handed down to Igor Orlovsky under paragraph “c” of Part 2 of Art. 354.1 of the Criminal Code (dissemination of knowingly false information about the activities of the USSR during the Second World War) and clause “e”, part 2 of Art.

According to Art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code, Vadim Gizatulin was convicted. On December 7, 2022, the Metallurgical District Court of Chelyabinsk sentenced Jehovah's Witness Vadim Gizatulin. He was found guilty of participating in the activities of an extremist organization (Part 2 of Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code). The court sentenced Gizatulin to a two-year suspended sentence. The criminal case against Gizatulin was initiated on August 31, 2021.

After the partial decriminalization of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code in the Code of Administrative Offenses, a new article appeared - 20.3.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (inciting hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity). We collect the resolutions issued on it into a single list on a monthly basis. The data are given without taking into account the decisions of the courts, which we consider to be clearly unlawful.

A resident of Mikhailovsk received three years in prison for participating in the activities of the "Right Sector". In November 2022, the Shpakovsky District Court of the Stavropol Territory sentenced a 31-year-old resident of the city of Mikhailovsk under Part 2 of Art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code (participation in the activities of an extremist organization).

Several residents of Kemerovo were punished under Art. 20.29 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. In December 2022, we became aware of several cases of punishment of residents of Kemerovo for distributing the song "Kill astronauts" by the group "The Ensemble of Christ the Savior and Mother Earth Cheese" on social networks. On August 29, the Central District Court of Kemerovo fined Razmik Sargsyan a thousand rubles for posting this song on VKontakte.

Five Crimeans are accused of involvement in the radical party Hizb ut-Tahrir, which is banned in Russia as a terrorist organization. On December 6, 2022, in the Southern District Military Court, during the arguments of the parties in the case of one of the five accused in the second Simferopol Hizb ut-Tahrir case, the state prosecutor requested punishment for the defendants.

On December 7, 2022, it became known that the residents of Makhachkala spoke out against the construction of an Orthodox church in a park on the shores of Lake Ak-Gel. The Mayor of Makhachkala, Rizvan Gazimagomedov, announced the ceremony of laying the stone on the site of the future temple. According to him, the construction, dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the Makhachkala diocese, will allow "strengthening interfaith relations and traditions of good neighborliness" in the republic.

The appellate instance reduced the term of restriction of freedom imposed on Mikhail Selitsky by a month. On December 5, 2022, it became known that the Voroshilovsky District Court of Rostov-on-Don considered Mikhail Selitsky’s appeal against the verdict under Part 2 of Art. 214 of the Criminal Code (vandalism motivated by political hostility). The term of the imposed sentence in the form of restriction of freedom was reduced by one month - to a year and five months.
