66-year-old Pavel Sidorenko was convicted under Part 2 of Art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code. On April 3, 2024, the Goryacheklyuchevskaya City Court of the Krasnodar Territory sentenced Jehovah's Witness Pavel Sidorenko. The court found him guilty under Part 2 of Art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code (participation in the activities of an extremist organization) and imposed a suspended sentence of three years in prison.

In mid-February 2024, it became known about the process in the Arbitration Court of the Volgograd Region for the liquidation of the Holy Trinity parish, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia. Previously, the court terminated the lease agreement for the temple and chapel in the city center. The liquidation lawsuit was suspended due to a complaint about possible insult to the feelings of believers during services in this parish.

A resident of Novocheboksarsk received a two-year suspended sentence for publishing a video on a social network. On February 13, 2024, the Supreme Court of Chuvashia sentenced Olga Mondikova, a 48-year-old resident of Novocheboksarsk. She was found guilty under paragraph “c” of Part 2 of Art. 354.1 of the Criminal Code (rehabilitation of Nazism on the Internet).

The court recognized Navalny's portrait and surname as symbols of banned organizations. On February 23, 2024, the Prikubansky District Court of Krasnodar arrested Sergei Albov for two days, finding him guilty of publicly displaying the symbols of an extremist organization (Part 1 of Article 20.3 of the Administrative Code). Albov put up leaflets with the word “Navalny” and a portrait of the deceased opposition leader.

A “citizen of the USSR” from the Bryansk region is accused under Part 2 of Art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code (participation in the activities of an extremist organization). In February 2024, in the Bryansk region, the investigation of the criminal case of a 52-year-old resident of Bryansk under Part 2 of Art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation in the activities of an extremist organization).

A court in Grozny sentenced Nikita Zhuravel to three and a half years in prison for burning the Koran. On February 27, 2024, the Visaitovsky District Court in Grozny found Nikita Zhuravel guilty under Part 2 of Art. 148 of the Criminal Code (public actions expressing clear disrespect for society and committed with the aim of insulting the religious feelings of believers, committed in places specially designed for worship, other religious rites and ceremonies) and Part 2 of Art.

The human rights activist was sentenced under Art. 280.3 CC. On February 27, 2024, the Golovinsky District Court completed the retrial of the case of the co-chairman of the Memorial Human Rights Center Oleg Orlov and sentenced him. The court found Orlov guilty under Part 1 of Art. 280.3 of the Criminal Code (repeated discrediting of the use of the Russian armed forces) and sentenced him to two years and six months of imprisonment to be served in a general regime colony.

This decision entails restricting Kaverzina’s right to be elected. On February 26, 2024, the Central District Court of Novosibirsk rejected the claim of city council deputy Svetlana Kaverzina, who challenged the city hall’s refusal to approve the rally. At the same time, the court found Kaverzina involved in the activities of Navalny’s banned structures. The court decision states that Kaverzina is a member of the Novosibirsk 2020 opposition coalition.

Security forces inspected the apartment of Vladislav Moroz from Podolsk. On February 27, 2024, FSB officers came to the apartment of Vladislav Moroz, a resident of Podolsk near Moscow. They inspected the premises as part of the investigation of the case initiated under Part 1 of Art. 282.3 of the Criminal Code (financing extremist activities). The security forces told Moroz that they had information that he had transferred money to the banned Anti-Corruption Foundation.

The state prosecutor asked that Pavel Sidorenko be sentenced to three years of suspended imprisonment. Orlova was sentenced to two and a half years of imprisonment under Part 1 of Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code. On July 11, 2024, the Moscow City Court considered the appeal against the sentence of the co-chairman of the Memorial Human Rights Center Oleg Orlov and left it unsatisfied.
