The Paris Faculty of Medicine recognized potatoes as edible and harmless to health. Experts have confirmed its medicinal properties. In 1757, the French pharmacist and agronomist Antoine Auguste Parmentier was captured in Prussia, where he first tried potatoes, which helped him escape and not die. In 1763, the agronomist returned to Paris and continued his research in the field of nutrition. Parmentier soon discovered that potatoes were not only harmless, but also beneficial for human health.
