Russia did not get into the UN Human Rights Council
On October 28, the UN General Assembly held elections to the Human Rights Council (HRC). Russia lacked three votes to achieve re-election; the country will leave the council at the end of 2016, TASS reports . The vote elected 14 countries that will join the Human Rights Council within three years from January 1, 2017. These include Egypt, Rwanda, Tunisia and South Africa, Iraq, China, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Brazil, Cuba, Great Britain and the USA.
