In the Sea of Okhotsk, freezer trawler sank: 54 dead
On the night of April 1 to 2, in the Sea of Okhotsk, the Far East freezer, located there on the Mintayevo-Seldyve Putin, sank off the coast of Kamchatka. According to Interfax, there were 132 people on the ship, of which 76 were Russians, the rest were citizens of Burma, Latvia, Ukraine and Vanuatu. The flooding was so swift that the crew did not manage to give a distress signal. The rescue operation is carried out by 26 vessels working in that area.
