In Russia, they will allow children to adopt children with HIV
The bill allowing people with HIV and hepatitis C to adopt children has passed the first reading in the State Duma. If the law is adopted, the presence of these diseases will not affect the court decision on adoption. Now the courts are guided by the Family Code of Russia, which prohibits children to adopt people with diseases listed in the government. There, in particular, includes tuberculosis, mental disorders, alcoholism, drug addiction, HIV and hepatitis C.
