Mass depression. Why youth mental health is deteriorating globally
According to the Lancet study, since 1990, increases have been observed across the spectrum of diagnoses, including depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, anorexia, bulimia, dysthymia, conduct disorder and mental retardation of unknown etiology. In 2019, WHO estimated the number of people with mental disorders to be approximately 970 million. A significant increase occurred during the pandemic, followed by some reversal.
