Passing for a day. There are no improvements, they connect new droppers, put a hemodialysis apparatus, because the kidneys and liver do not cope with blood rubbish. “Until tomorrow, everything will definitely decide,” the doctors say.

The intensive care unit is most reminiscent of the headquarters of the head command during the Third World War. Only then there are a lot of generals in white robes, and the enemy is only one - death. But the forces to fight, thank God, is enough: equipment, medicines, specialists - everything is. You feel the most useless. But no. “Maria, Dmitry! Speak with him, speak more, he must hear his native voices ... "Yes. We are also needed here.

Another day. The pressure stabilized. The condition improves. On the faces of the doctors of the smile. Disconnect the first droppers. “No, it’s impossible to wake up for now, while we will keep on sleeping pills.”

The new day is already the third. "We reduce sleeping pills, tomorrow we’ll stop giving at all." Edema subsides, breathing normalizes, the complexion is normal. Give liquid food. We talk with Anton, although he cannot answer us yet, put music, read the wishes of friends, answer calls.

Every morning bypass doctors. Each time, a person comes ten: all specialized specialists, along with the head of the intensive care unit. Report over the past day, inspection, purpose, recommendations. The sleeping pills were completely canceled. But Anton is not waking up yet. Although when we slow down, he is already reacting, he begins to open his eyes.

In addition to our doctors, unfamiliar Russian employees come in every day: from the neighboring department, from the ambulance department, from the pharmacy. They all once left here and have been working here for many years, and everyone is offering all possible help when they find out that Russian is being treated here.

Transplantologists, radio oncologists come, Dr. O'Connor calls (he is at a conference in Chicago). “We do not change the treatment plan. We adjust the dates, we continue to prepare for transplantation. ”
