And so all day - after all, the hospital has two and a half thousand beds (!), And unlike our amazing healthcare system in the USA, like around the world, relatives have the right to visit the patient when they please. And in the measured work of the registrars today there was a small commotion: when Masha went for a pass and had not yet managed to say anything, the elderly employee asked her with horror: “My God! Something happened to Mr. Buslov again?! ”
I well remember this elderly African American, although I met him only once. In the last visit, we were with Masha together, and, having noticed her from afar, he waved to us, and when we came up, it broke into a smile: “So here it is, Mr. Buslov!” He wrote out a pass without looking at our documents, and said, addressing me: “I know your wife! This is amazing, this is the best person! All winter, in the cold, in the snow, at night she went to you! I know you were very sick ... You were in the hospital for a very long time. And all this time I worked here and saw how every day she returns several times to you. This is the best person! And I am very, very glad that you have recovered now! "
Fortunately, nothing happened to me, Masha reassured this sweet man. On the contrary, something beautiful happened to me: now I’m already strong enough for me and Masha to share things - now she does not need to rush with me all the time. Today I took the “distance”, which I had long dreamed: I went on foot from the hospital to the house. This is 2243 meters, if measured on the map. Is it a lot or little? In Moscow, I walked and thirty kilometers a day. I love to walk. Only now my previous “big” walk along the streets of New York was in September last year.
And from that moment until today I walked mainly from bed to the toilet and back.
I look at how, obeying the laws of spring, the fluffy ridiculous hairs are breaking on my head so far in a mixture, and I rejoice.
The temperature background in New York finally exceeded the zero mark, and the kidneys began to swell on the trees. Both winter and illness are not forever. They stretch in a gray series, but in the end, all the same, everything will change for the better.
