Now I know two radical ways of treating a headache: the first, classic-guillotine, the second was applied to me today-it was hospitalized and examined by my brain using magnetic resonance imaging. I don’t even know what's next-I’m still somewhere at the beginning of treatment. It looks like something strange, of course. But the doctor explains: “In addition to the likelihood that this is a reaction to the weather or infection, it is also likely that it is a donor - a recipient reaction (that is, my body tries to tear off my sister bone marrow transplanted to me) - and then it is very dangerous.”
And I think about how, having returned to Russia, I will tell the local therapist in the city clinic that there may be several reasons, including a very dangerous headache. And I will be right. And he will answer me that due to a headache in our country they do not hospitalize. And he will also be right.
After my first transplantation, when my own stem cells were transplanted in Samara, two years passed before I found out what precautions the post -transplantation should observe. The fact is that books and guidelines issued to me before transplantation in the United States also contained instructions for transplantation of their own cells. It turned out that the instructions about where you can go and where not, what can be eaten and what it is impossible, how often to take and what tests contained a hundred pages. Then, two years ago, I did not know anything of this, because I did not have such an instruction. Is it too surprised that a couple of days after discharge without a single instruction from the Samara hospital I had a temperature of 39 OS, pneumonia and much more.
By this point, I was already in Moscow, and RONC could not put me for treatment - there was no direction for high -tech medical care. But the doctors warned that if you call an ambulance, then they would most likely put me in the city infectious diseases hospital, which made me much worse. So then I treated myself at home: I put droppers with antibiotics and antifungal drugs, I was looking for ways to send blood for tests. Now, when I remember this, it shouts. It seems that the probability of dying then (albeit completely unconscious) was higher than the probability of dying in New York from septic shock.
But he survived. And thousands of people survive. Still, they say the truth: if the patient firmly decided to survive, then the doctors are simply powerless to interfere with him.
