Good intentions
Mikhail Khodorkovsky was hospitalized due to food poisoning caused by a dry hunger strike, which the former head of Yukos announced three days ago in protest against his placement in solitary confinement. Our good prosecutors, “to avoid further provocations from the prisoners,” put the man away alone, solely for his own good. Maybe, in order to avoid any provocations from the authorities, the court, the prosecutor, let him go home to his wife?

Against the wall
The Chairman of the Moscow City Court refused to satisfy the supervisory appeal of the defense of the former head of YUKOS against the guilty verdict. The complaint has already been transferred to the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation. It must be said that no one is particularly surprised - all the courts concerning YUKOS, and everything connected with it, are carried out surprisingly democratically - everyone always knows in advance how the case will end.

Eternally relevant topic
The premiere of the play “Mow from the Army” is scheduled for May 15 in Yekaterinburg - this is a new project of the Ural documentary theater. A whole discussion will unfold before the audience on the topic of “mow” or “not to mow”, and how exactly to “mow”. Moreover, the producers promise to share some effective recipes on how to avoid this happiness called “emergency service.” Yes, the problem has become so ripe that it is already seeping into contemporary art.

The curse of the Morozov family
Apparently, there is an old curse hanging over the Morozov family. Troubles have been happening to the Morozovs for a long time. It all started with the famous noblewoman, then it was the turn of the People’s Will member Nikolai Morozov, who spent 25 years in solitary confinement in the Shlisselburg fortress. Their tragic fate was shared by the revolutionary merchant Savva Morozov, who for some reason believed the Bolsheviks.

Tyutchev as an imperialist
Leaving aside the elder Philotheus (“The Third Rome, but there will never be a fourth”), Pushkin (“This is the fraternal dispute of the Slavs...”) and Chaadaev (who is generally a Catholic), Fyodor Ivanovich Tyutchev can be called the first Russian geopolitician in the European sense of the word.

PR is like shashlik, only fresh is good
What do PR and fresh kebab have in common? Both are products that cannot be stored for long periods of time. Kebab is not canned food, and PR is not an ideology. And in this sense, it is instructive to look back and trace the fate of some PR campaigns. Remember, for example, the scandal that erupted after the publication of Khodorkovsky’s first article, “The Crisis of Liberalism in Russia”? Government media quickly discovered that theses were contained in an article by a certain Yu.A.

Let's leave a loophole
The Council of Europe called on all countries to abolish prosecution of journalists for defamation. This is such a tricky thing - “dissemination of defamatory information”, and this information may be true. In fact, the old law is a horror story for journalists, because it is very difficult to prove your innocence, the wording is painfully vague. But in Russia they don’t want to repeal the law.
