President Vladimir Putin, during a visit to Tulun, called the head of the press service of the Irkutsk governor, Irina Alashkevich, a "dishonest person", who allegedly called the flood-affected residents of Tulun a "scourge". Putin told locals that he had not heard of the scandal, but "if she said so, then she is not a decent person." When asked whether he would fire her, Putin replied: “I don’t want to use foul language, but she deserves it.
