The Russian Orthodox Church asked to take into account monasticism when banning “childfree propaganda”
The bill banning the “childfree” ideology deserves support, but it needs to be finalized to, in particular, take into account monasticism, said the head of the legal department of the Moscow Patriarchate, Abbess Ksenia (Chernega). In the current version, the dissemination of information about monasticism and the monastic lifestyle, which excludes childbearing, may be prohibited, the Russian Orthodox Church noted.
