Vesti journalists detained in Yekaterinburg
On the night of December 1–2, 2005, in Yekaterinburg, an armed man took employees of the Channel Four television company hostage. As a result of two-hour negotiations, he released the hostages, after which representatives of the police and the FSB began interrogating them inside the building. Since the relatives of the hostages knew nothing about what was going on inside, in the end, Vesti journalist Aleksey Ponomarev tried to enter the seized building, breaking through the police cordon.
