The State Duma will consider the possibility of amending the law “On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Associations”
According to Moskovsky Komsomolets, a draft law on amendments to the law "On Freedom of Conscience and on Religious Associations" has been submitted to the State Duma for consideration. According to Art. Paragraph 3, paragraph 6 of this law "holding public events, posting texts and images that offend the religious feelings of citizens, near objects of religious veneration is prohibited." The authors of the bill propose to remove the words "near objects of religious worship" from this wording.

"March on Ostankino" banned
On May 17, 2006, the press service of the Yabloko party reported that the prefecture of the North-Eastern District of Moscow banned the opposition march in defense of freedom of speech "March to Ostankino" (from the VDNKh metro station to the Ostankino television center), scheduled for May 20, 2006 . Muslim cemetery in Arkhangelsk desecrated

Altai newspaper is prohibited from publishing materials about the opposition

Muslims in Sochi still cannot obtain permission to build a mosque
The Muslim community in Sochi is still unable to obtain permission from the authorities to build a mosque.
