Veliky Novgorod: a verdict was passed in the case of publishing xenophobic materials on a social network
In July 2017, in Veliky Novgorod, a local resident, Sergei Ovechkin, was sentenced to 2 years of probation for posting xenophobic videos, audio recordings, and photographs on a social network directed against Jews, as well as people from the Caucasus and Central Asia. In July 2017, the Novgorodsky District Court delivered a verdict in the case of inciting ethnic hatred (Part 1, Article 282 of the Criminal Code).
