On March 18, 2026, the Proletarsky District Court of Tver found Oleg Bityukov guilty under Part 2 of Art. 280 of the Criminal Code (public calls for extremist activities). According to the court, in December 2023, Bityukov posted comments in an open Telegram channel in which he spoke negatively about natives of the Caucasus and Central Asia, Azerbaijanis, as well as officials helping visitors from Central Asia.

On April 20, 2026, it became known that the Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science (Rosobrnadzor) issued a warning against violations of mandatory requirements to four universities, including the Dashi Choynkhorlin Buddhist University named after Damba Darzha Zayaev.
