1992 Beginning of supplies of American aid to the CIS countries
25 years ago, on February 10, 1992, the US Air Force began delivering American humanitarian aid to the CIS countries as part of Operation Provide Hope ("Give Hope"). Until August 1993, 282 transport flights were performed and 7012 tons of cargo were delivered. Initially, aid was allocated from stocks left over from the Gulf War. Flights were made to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kiev, Minsk, Chisinau, Yerevan, Alma-Ata, Dushanbe, Ashgabat, Baku, Tashkent and Bishkek.
